Excellent summary- style piece in the NYT that gives an overview of efforts by the Copy Left movement to Reclaim the Public Domain. The Eldred Act is part of this movement-- by allowing 50 year old works whose authors have abandoned them to enter the public domain, creators can repurpose, use and build on them to enhance and expand our culture.
